This weekend marks a long weekend as on Thursday, October 29, it’s the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. This also gives us an extra day to enjoy more of what Dubai has to offer.
With that, here’s nine things to do in Dubai this long weekend.
Alfresco dining
Now that the cooler weather is here, enjoy a one-of-a-kind alfresco dining experience at one of Dubai’s top beachfront locations – DRIFT Beach Dubai at One&Only Royal Mirage. Being served from Wednesday through Saturday from 7pm to 11pm, the award-winning beach club will serve its vibrant Provençal cuisine to enjoy while relaxing on the restaurant’s terrace. Enjoy Les Escargots, La Pissaladiere and Les Encornets for starters and then enjoy signature mains like Côte De Veau Milanaise and Le Poulpe Braisé.
A nice breakfast
Make having a nice breakfast out a priority this weekend. Whether you want something more healthy or the full nine-yards, Caya, located heart of Nshama Town Square, has got you covered. Whether it’s eggs benedict with crispy beef bacon and homemade hollandaise sauce, a classic shakshuka or French Toast, this breakfast hotspot has everything you could want and more.
Catch-up with friends
Do you ever need an excuse to catch up with friends? Not really, but LPM Restaurant & Bar has given you the perfect excuse to do so if you did need one. Launching their brand new bar menu Cinq à Sept, the term comes from the typical French expression which describes the time between 5pm to 7pm – between work and home – when friends catch up before enjoying an evening meal. It’s also a first for the top Dubai restaurant as it marks their new opening hours, being open to guests for the first time between lunch and dinner service. Enjoy some of the renowned restaurant’s new cocktails which include the Sgroppino, La Sucette and Ma Chérie, as well as some new items on their menu, which you find out more about here.
Celebrate Halloween
Of course, we can’t ignore Halloween celebrations. With so much to do in Dubai, we’ve rounded up some of the best places to go and best things to do here.
Sweet treat
Got a sweet tooth and love homemade desserts? Then we’ve found the place for you – CupNCakes Dubai, which quite literally began on its founder Nicole’s kitchen table. Whether it’s small sweet treats or a big cake you’re looking for, it’s the perfect place to order from for all things dessert. Why not opt for some Halloween-themed treats this weekend?
Get fit
Ready to reset your fitness goals and go beyond your comfort zone? HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, is bringing back the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) for its fourth edition, which kicks off on October 30. The premise is simple, all you have to do is a 30-minute workout every day for 30 days. Seems pretty simple right? But the results will surprise you.
Shake up your coffee
Instead of your usual weekend coffee, shake things up by opting for a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte which is temporarily returning to the UAE this weekend. In celebration of the autumnal season, the franchise has reinstated the PSL just until Friday, October 30 at selected Starbucks’ around the UAE.
Hit the shops
In celebration of the start of Sheikh Hamdan’s Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020, a huge sale will be taking place at Dubai Mall over the weekend. The ‘Mega Sale’ will see discounts of up to 90 per cent off on sports, health and wellness brands. Meanwhile, there will be up to 75 per cent off on fashion, beauty and jewellery brands.
A ‘lazy’ Saturday
To round off the long weekend, indulge a little on a lazy Saturday with Cloud Restaurants’ lazy cake. What exactly is a lazy cake you ask? Well, it has two main ingredients that make it the best dessert there is; chocolate and biscuit, that’s all there is to it! Available for delivery on Deliveroo, Talabat, Zomato and Careem, delivering all across Dubai, you can put together a box of three, six or 12 and choose from six different flavours: Strawberry, Pistachio, Smores, Salted Caramel Peanut, Orange and more.
