If you were planning a visit to Ain Dubai this year, you might have to wait a little longer.
In a statement issued by Dubai Holding on Ain Dubai’s official website, the world’s highest observation wheel will remain closed until Q1 of 2023.
“We have been working rigorously to complete the enhancement works over the past months,” the statement read. “Once a reopening date is set, a further announcement will be made.
“In line with our commitment to offering guests an experience unlike any other, we look forward to introducing new and exciting offers when we re-open Ain Dubai for visitors to enjoy from across the globe.”
Temporary shutdown
A temporary closure of Ain Dubai was announced earlier this year in March.
It was stated that periodic enhancements were being made to the structure and hence there was a need for a temporary shutdown.
With a prolonged closure until next year, this architectural marvel which was in the works for six years is making further improvements for tourists and residents to experience something new and unexpected.
What is Ain Dubai?
Located on Bluewaters Island, the structure reaches an astonishing height of up to 820 feet, making it the largest observation wheel in the world with three cabins including Observation, Social and Private cabins for different purposes depending on the occasion.
Ain Dubai had been under construction since May 2015, and opened in October last year.
This prestigious project which is part of Dubai Holding’s entertainment portfolio had a capacity for 1,750 people on deck to witness glistening views of Dubai’s skyline.
