7 rules to be mindful of when lounging around Dubai pools

With the scorching heat of summer having already begun, residents in Dubai welcomed the news over the weekend that pools are now permitted to open in hotels, gyms and places of residence.

However, just like with malls and restaurants reopening, there are guidelines in place, per directives of Dubai Municipality, to protect the health and safety of the public as part of precautionary measures taken against COVID-19.

So, while we’re all for you going out to enjoy a well-deserved dip in a luxury pool – might we recommend Cove Beach, one of Dubai’s top beach clubs – here’s eight rules to be mindful of when lounging around Dubai pools.

  1. Pools must be deep cleaned by establishments prior to opening each day and the contents of the pool must be continually tested throughout the day.
  2. Just like with entering malls and supermarkets, temperature checks must be done for those wishing to use an establishment’s pool.
  3. When in the pool, social distancing measures must be implemented, keeping two metres apart from others at all times.
  4. Limited capacity restrictions are in place, meaning there should be four square metres to one person.
  5. When lounging by the pool, the maximum number in a group is five and there must be four metres kept between different groups.
  6. It’s advised that pool-goers bring their own towels for hygiene and sanitisation reasons.
  7. For those wishing to buy food and drinks around the pool, contactless payments are encouraged.

Now you’re ready to top-up your tan poolside!
