The Eid Al-Adha holiday has been announced, we now know that we will be getting an extra-long weekend. So, if you haven’t made any travel plans, and will be spending the vacation in the UAE, then worry not. We have your back with a list of ten things to do during the Eid Al-Adha holiday in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Fireworks, Dubai Festival City

It wouldn’t be a celebration without fireworks. So, if you are in the world for an incredible show, head over to Dubai Festival City on August 11 and 12. The fireworks will take place IMAGINE, the incredible water, lights and laser show that takes place daily at Dubai Festival City. They have designed a show especially for the Eid Al Adha celebrations, with two shows per night at 8pm and 10pm respectively.

1975 concert, Coca-Cola Arena

The indie band from Manchester, are set to make their Middle Eastern debut in Dubai, this coming August. The four-piece British band will take to the stage on Wednesday August 14, with tickets on sale from Wednesday June 12 at 5 pm, available from the1975dxb.com. Their concert, will be part of their current world tour, and they are are set to release their fourth studio album this summer. So, fans will likely also be treated to some new material when the group take to the stage in August.

Nancy Ajram concert, Trade Centre

Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram will be returning to Dubai this summer for a Eid concert that you wouldn’t want to miss. The  singer will be joined by Iraqi singer Saif Nabeel on August 15 in Dubai World Trade Centre. General admission for the show starts from AED 95, with royal tier tickets available for AED 695. Disney Marathon, Dubai Opera

If you are a Disney fan, and how can you not be, then head down to the Dubai Opera from August 15 to August 30 to get your fix. Prepare for two unstoppable weeks, where they will be showing a line up of 48 of the greatest Disney movies of all time. So end your summer on a high note, and celebrate the best animated and live-action titles from all decades.

Feline film festival, Cinema Akil

From August 9 to 10, Cinema Akil will be hosting a special feline-themed mini film festival. So, if you are a cat lover, head over to Alserkal Avenue and enjoy five feature films about and/or starring cats. It will also include the 70-minute compilation reel which features the best cat videos taken from submissions, animations, music videos and the internet.

Louvre Museum, Abu Dhabi

If you are in the capital during Eid, then you definitely have to make time to indulge in cultural activities at the Louvre. You can partake in the Essential Tour or the Architectural tour. But, if you are looking for a different experience within the museum, then you should go kayaking while taking in the art.

YAS Waterworld, Abu Dhabi

There are camel and pony rides and photo sessions with an array of birds. The zoo also has cultural activities such as coffee making and craft workshops.

Dubai Sports World, Trade Centre

One of the worst things about the heat, is that we have to spend our time cooped inside. But, this Eid, if you are looking to indulge in more athletic activities, then head over to Dubai Sports World, a multipurpose arena at Dubai World Trade Centre in Sheikh Saeed Hall, which operates from the June 19 until Sept. 10. The venue will be open from 8 am to 12 am everyday and guests are encouraged to book their space in advance through their website at www.dubaisportsworld.ae before visiting.
