30 At-Home Workouts You Can Do on Your Lunch Break

No matter how many times that I attempt to make a conscious effort to slow down and enjoy my food, my hanger always prevails as I continually find myself inhaling my meals. The one benefit to this fatal flaw of mine is that I have the *unique* ability to use my lunch break to accomplish more than just curbing my hunger with my favorite Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken Bowl. Instead of sleepily scrolling TikTok as I digest, I use the remaining minutes of my lunch to move my body, even if it’s just for a few moments. For a long, long time, it was ingrained in my brain that my workouts “weren’t effective” unless I spent over an hour doing intense cardio or lifting heavy weights at a gym. After the past year of adapting to our new normal, I’ve found that keeping things short, simple, and consistent is more effective for me than pressuring myself to hit the gym multiple days a week for hours on end. More times than not, I don’t have the time, energy, or motivation to make my previous methods even the least bit successful.
Incorporating movement into my WFH routine has been an absolute game-changer for me and helps me to get my mind right before I tackle the second half of my workday. Whether you find yourself with an extra 10, 20, or 30 minutes in your day, these quick, yet effective workouts are the perfect way to step away from the screen and get your blood pumping:

Khalid Al Ameri and Salama Mohamed share crucial marriage advice

Khalid Al Ameri and Salama Mohamed have both become well-known for sharing light-hearted and inspiring content online, much of it being very personal to both of them.
Continuing to keep it real and raw with their audience, Khalid has opened up about the “lowest point” in his marriage and sharing his advice on how they overcame it.

Taking to Instagram and sharing a photo of himself and Salama with his 1.2 million followers, the social media personality reflected upon a quote by the Prophet Muhammed, “There is nothing like marriage, for two who love each other.”
ALSO READ: Salama Mohamed’s journey to finding self-love
Relating the quote to his own marriage, the social media personality and content creator explained that the best thing you can do in a relationship is to “silence the noise”.

He went on to explain that in his relationship he used to listen to the noise.

“For so long Salama and I’s marriage wasn’t our marriage, it was everyone else’s, it was relatives who told us what was best, it was ‘friends’ who told us what we should do come out the strongest amongst each other, it was people we didn’t even know that we were trying to be like because they fit in,” he said.
This eventually caused the couple to grow apart.
“We grew so far apart that we no longer knew why were together, it was the lowest point of our marriage, until we decided to try something new, and that was to put ourselves and our love for each other first, and everything else second,” he added.
Putting each other first and silencing other people’s thoughts around them was what turned things around for the couple. As Khalid simply said, it is their marriage and “nobody else’s”.
He finished his post saying, “We are the ones who wake up and go to sleep next to each other every day and every night, we are the ones who want to be together for the rest of our lives, just us together, with a love stronger that the noise of others.”
It’s definitely sound advice to live by.

This is what Prince Harry is doing with the funds he won from ‘defamatory’ story

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t here for fake news and the spreading of false rumours.
Just recently, the Duchess of Sussex was forced to make a statement clarifying rumours that she had her birth name removed from her son Archie’s birth certificate.

As of late, the Duke of Sussex has also been in the midst of a battle to clear his name after a publication falsely stated in a “defamatory” story he had “turned his back” on the British Royal Marines after he stepped down from public royal duties in January last year with Meghan.

Britain’s Prince Harry has won an apology and substantial damages from the publishers of the Mail on Sunday newspaper https://t.co/5w5QuyRY02 pic.twitter.com/2FATJGUNMu
    — Reuters (@Reuters) February 1, 2021

An article published by the Mail on Sunday stated that since Harry had left the UK for North America he had “not been in touch” with the armed forces following his farewell royal tour in March last year.
Settling the matter in court, Harry has agreed to accept “substantial damages” from the publisher, which he will be donating to the Invictus Games Foundation, an organisation he founded back in 2014.
“The duke is personally donating the significant damages recovered from this legal resolution to the Invictus Games Foundation,” a Sussex spokesperson told Harper’s Bazaar US, adding that “the duke’s commitment to the military community is unquestionable”.
    Meghan clears things up
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex once again had to defend herself against tabloid gossip, this time it’s surrounding her son’s birth certificate.
It was reported by UK tabloid The Sun over the weekend that the Duchess of Sussex had taken “unprecedented action” to remove her birth names from Archie’s birth certificate.
What previous read as ‘Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex’ then became to be just ‘Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex.
However, not letting rumours run rife, the former Suits actress issued a statement via a spokesperson hitting back at the report.
In fact, according to Meghan, the change of name on the documents was “dictated by the Palace”.

From a spokesperson for Duchess Meghan: https://t.co/TuXZPRytC7 pic.twitter.com/ZyFvceqBDs
    — Omid Scobie (@scobie) January 31, 2021

“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials,” a spokesperson clarified. “This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex.”
In her statement, the Sussex camp also branded the report “deceptive”.
“To see this U.K. tabloid and their carnival of so-called ‘experts’ chose to deceptively whip this into a calculated family ‘snub’ and suggest that she would oddly want to be nameless on her child’s birth certificate, or any other legal document, would be laughable were it not offensive,” the spokesperson said.
“There’s a lot going on in the world; let’s focus on that rather than creating clickbait.”

Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed meet ahead of probe’s Mars arrival

As the UAE Hope Probe is set to arrive next week, UAE leaders His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met to discuss the nation’s success ahead of the historic event.
After the meeting on Monday, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed shared an update on the Hope Probe, as well as the UAE’s development in space and science.

“My brother Mohammed bin Rashid and I discussed our national achievements, particularly in space and science, and our pride in the nation’s youth,” he said on Twitter.

He also added that Sarah Al-Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences and Science Lead of the Emirates Mars Mission, gave the UAE leaders an update on the progress of the historic mission.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Ruler of Dubai, also shared a message on Twitter, confirming the Hope Probe is set to reach Mars on February 9, 2021.
“It is a historic event that our country will celebrate, as it marks 50 years since the establishment of the UAE and its golden jubilee,” he explained.
“We are 9 days away from the arrival of UAE’s Hope probe to Mars in the first Arab interplanetary mission.

We are 9 days away from the arrival of UAE’s Hope probe to Mars in the first Arab interplanetary mission. The UAE will be the 5th nation to reach the Red Planet. The probe has a 50% success rate in entering Mars’ orbit, but we achieved 90% of our goals in building new knowledge.
    — HH Sheikh Mohammed (@HHShkMohd) February 1, 2021

“The UAE will be the 5th nation to reach the Red Planet. The probe has a 50% success rate in entering Mars’ orbit, but we achieved 90% of our goals in building new knowledge.”
    What is the Hope Probe?
At the beginning of 2020 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed signed the remaining outer piece for the probe which will launch into space.
The probe is being spearheaded by the UAE in order to gain a full picture on what the atmosphere of Mars is like. It is expected the Hope Probe will take an estimated 200 days to arrive on Mars. Once the probe reaches the planet in 2021, data will be collected over a two-year period, but this could be extended by another two years meaning the Hope Probe has the potential to be in space until 2025.

    The Everygirl’s 28-Day Self-Love Challenge

Ah, February: the month of red roses, limitless rom-coms, and heart-shaped boxes of chocolates. Maybe you’re a hopeless romantic and look forward to February 14 all year, or maybe Valentine’s Day typically feels sad, lonely, or disappointing. But celebrating love wouldn’t be complete if the #1 priority wasn’t how you love yourself. No matter what your relationship status says on Facebook, the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Yes, that might have been a cliché your mom told you growing up or what you read in The Care and Keeping Of You when you were 11 years old, but it’s also a powerful truth. How you feel about and talk to yourself determines the success of other relationships, and is a key component of physical health and mental health. How you love yourself literally impacts every aspect of your life, and therefore, learning to love yourself is the most important skill you could master.
Since February is the month of love, we’ve put together a challenge focusing on the most worthy kind of relationship: the one you have with yourself. For every day in February, you’ll be challenged to try journaling prompts and activities focusing on getting to know yourself, wooing yourself, caring for yourself, and prioritizing yourself. Follow the challenge, and you’ll have a whole new perspective on self-love by March 1.

1: Make a list of five things that always make you happy and put it on your mirror, desk, or fridge where you’ll see it often
    2: Buy yourself flowers
    3. Revisit a childhood hobby
    4. Go for a walk on your lunch break
    5. Make a playlist of all your favorite songs
    6. Unplug for three hours
7: Journal prompt: Get to know yourself. Take some time to think about what you believe in, value, and like. Make a list of your strengths (particularly the ones that have gone unnoticed).

    Source: @lolaomonaija

8: Say “no” if you want to say no
9: Eat the rainbow by trying a variety of fruits and vegetables
10: Splurge on the item you’ve been wanting
11: Take yourself on a date or set the table with candles and a fancy table cloth
    13: Watch your favorite movie
14: Journal prompt: look at a picture of yourself as a baby or young child. How would you talk differently to yourself if you were talking to her? What do you want to tell her?

    Source: @sassyredlipstick

    15. Identify your love language and then do one thing to show yourself love in that language
    16. Make a promise to yourself and then keep it (work out before work, make a smoothie for breakfast, take a real lunch break, cut off work at 5 p.m., etc.)
    17. Unfollow or mute every account that doesn’t make you feel inspired, encouraged, or good about yourself
    18. Sit in child’s pose for a minute whenever you’re stressed
    19. Dress up in your favorite outfit and put on your favorite lipstick
    20. Take some time to “play:” turn on music and dance or do something creative like coloring
21: Journal prompt: write down past mistakes you’re still holding onto. Reflect on how you’ve changed since those past mistakes or embarrassing moments. Realize how even the worst moments have made you stronger, kinder, and better, and then forgive yourself.

    Source: @kayla_seah

22: Say “thank you” instead of “I’m sorry”
23: Sneak leafy greens into sauces, dips, and dressings
24: Write a list of the things you love most about yourself
    25: Start an inspirational book
26: Treat yourself to a new vibrator or download an app like Coral (because sexual wellness is self-care)

28: Journal prompt: How can you become more “you?” We love ourselves when our actions align with who we really are. Make a list of your qualities, likes, traits, strengths, and passions. Then, write down how you can become or more of each thing. Also, get rid of the activities or traits that don’t feel true to you, and fill up the empty space with more you-ness. Every work goal, wellness intention, and daily schedule should support becoming more of who you really are. More
