A This Morning therapist accused of raping a client said his penis was “like a laser beam” which could “burn up trauma”, a court heard.Michael Lousada is being sued by Ella Janneh, 37, who visited him after suffering panic attacks during consensual sex due to being abused as a child.Ella Janneh, said she was raped and sexually assaulted by Mr Lousada in his clinic in 2016Credit: PAMr Lousada, who has appeared as a guest on This Morning, denies the allegations, saying the sexual activity was consensual and part of ‘legitimate’ therapeutic activityCredit: You TubeMs Janneh, who has waived her right to anonymity, claims during a session on August 18, 2016, she was raped and sexually assaulted by Mr Lousada in his clinic in Belsize Park, London. She is now bringing a civil claim against the therapist in the High Court after the Crown Prosecution Service said it would not pursue criminal charges in 2018.Mr Lousada, who has appeared as a guest on This Morning, denies the allegations. He says the sexual activity was consensual and part of “legitimate” therapeutic activity.Read More showbiz newsAt the start of a six-day trial in London on Friday, Nina Ross, representing Ms Janneh, said Mr Lousada assaulted his client during a “body work” session. The alleged attack came after he claimed to use penetration “as a therapeutic technique”.She said: “She did not have the mental capacity to consent … nor did she have the freedom to consent due to the power dynamic inherent in a therapeutic relationship, nor did she have all the information she needed to consent because he gave her no warning.”She has thought of the incident as a rape from the day it happened.”Most read in Showbiz”There is no evidence before the court of why the defendant decided to take that risk, or what possible benefits there were for a trauma victim like the claimant, or indeed anyone.”‘BODY WORK’ SESSIONThe court was told that Ms Janneh first visited Mr Lousada in 2011 and again in 2012 after suffering panic symptoms during consensual sex, which she believed stemmed from abuse as a child. No sexual activity took place at that time. She returned in 2016 for the “body work” session which she believed was similar to a physiotherapy session, coupled with talking therapy, Ms Ross said.Giving her evidence in court, Ms Janneh said she had a phone call with Mr Lousada where she explained the nature of her panic attacks and that she wanted to understand how to overcome the problem. She said: “I absolutely did not ask him to work on penetration. I never, ever, ever would have asked him to penetrate me.”When questioned whether she had suggested penetration be used as a therapy technique, Ms Janneh said: “That is deeply untrue. It is the express opposite.”PENIS ‘ABSORB THE TRAUMA’In court documents, Ms Janneh claimed that Mr Lousada told her his penis was, “like a laser beam” and that it could “burn up trauma”.She also claims he said he should use his penis to “absorb the trauma”.The incident caused her to suffer a panic attack, leaving her unable to communicate and “incapable of providing valid and informed consent” as a result.Ms Janneh, who now lives in Melbourne, Australia, reported the incident to the Met Police a day later. No charges were brought and the case was dropped in May 2018.As well as taking legal action against Mr Lousada, Ms Janneh is also suing Anteros Books Ltd, of which he was a director, for damages over claims of assault, trespass to the person and negligence.’RELEASE OF ENERGY’Barristers for Mr Lousada said while he accepts that penetration occurred, its purpose “was not to have intercourse, but to accommodate the claimant’s wish to work with penetration”.They said he believed the the session was “about release of energy”.In written submissions, lawyer David Boyle said that Ms Janneh did not fully disclose her past trauma and her vulnerable status, was aware of what the session involved and repeatedly provided “clear, unequivocal consent”.In his notes following the session, Mr Lousada wrote that Ms Janneh “left feeling empowered and optimistic”.Mr Boyle continued: “The defendant slowly and carefully proceeded with the treatment session. At each stage, he asked for clear, verbal, consent to the next step proposed.”At each stage, the claimant responded with a clear ‘yes’, failing which the defendant did not and would not proceed.”I absolutely did not ask him to work on penetration. Gordon Ramsay’s £13m pub taken over by squatters with brazen gang even threatening to take legal action against TV chef

A GANG of squatters has set up home in telly chef Gordon Ramsay’s swanky £13million pub.The brazen invaders have even slapped a legal notice on the outside of the Grade-II listed building, threatening action against anyone who tries to force them out.Gordon Ramsay is seething after squatters broke into his chic £13million boozer — and left it looking like a dog’s dinnerCredit: GettyAn occupier sleeps amid the trash at the Ramsay’s pub in LondonCredit: Andrew StyczynskiThe occupier is crashed out on a leather sofa near the bar of the chic York & AlbanyCredit: Andrew Styczynski – The SunRamsay helped turn the former coaching inn into swish pub and boutique hotelThe gang, said to be made up of at least six “professional squatters”, used Ramsay’s own kitchen appliances to barricade themselves in and have glued shut the locks.Photos show the swanky bar area of the venue — which had been temporarily closed for a handover — resembling a tip, with debris sprawled everywhere and a squatter crashed out on a leather sofa.Ramsay, 57, was about to sign over a multi-million pound lease to new partners when the gang broke in to the York & Albany pub and boutique hotel near Regent’s Park, central London. The TV chef — who was embroiled in a legal battle over the venue back in 2015 — called the police last Wednesday but has been unable to remove the squatters from the 19th-century building.Read More on ShowbizLast night a source said: “It’s an absolute nightmare scenario for poor Gordon.“The pub was temporarily closed whilst he was finalising a new lease, and during this handover period a gang of professional squatters somehow bypassed all the security and CCTV, and got themselves in.“They’ve now boarded themselves in the building and are slowly taking over the place, leaving their crap everywhere and brazenly telling locals this is now their home.“They’ve glued tight all the locks and are cooking up a storm in the kitchen, which is especially galling for Gordon.”Most read in CelebrityThe source said there were at least five men and a woman there, adding: “Some are crashing on sofas, but others have taken over the beautiful bedrooms. Not surprisingly, a few choice words have been said.”Yesterday, one squatter was seen sleeping barefoot on a couch in the bar area while wearing a hat, coat and trousers.Another slipper-clad occupier was scrolling his smartphone.Scattered around were a pair of crutches, a Sainsbury’s bag for life, tobacco, plugs, empty water bottles and wine glasses — with a blue sleeping bag dumped on another sofa.A cat climber and dog toy were also visible, while kitchen equipment was seen on the floor at the back of the venue. One squatter, wearing a blue hoodie, knee compression bandage and sliders, refused to comment when approached by The Sun.The man — who had two black eyes with a cut above one — said: “I’m under no obligation to speak to you. Have a good morning.”He asked for our reporter’s name but refused to give his own. He pulled out a phone and was heard talking to a woman who warned him not to speak to us. They have also slapped a legal notice on the front door, saying they are entitled to stay there as it “is a non-residential building”.They claim that the law which prevents squatting is not applicable because it “was NOT designed or adapted, before the time of our entry, for use as a place to live”.Incredibly, they then threaten legal action, suggesting that if anyone tries to enter “by violence” they could end up in jail for six months. They warn: “Take notice that we occupy this property and at all times there is at least one person in occupation.“That any entry or attempt to enter into these premises without our permission is therefore a criminal offence as any one of us who is in physical possession is opposed to such entry without our permission.”That if you attempt to enter by violence or by threatening violence we will prosecute you.“You may receive a sentence of up to six months’ imprisonment and/or a fine of up to £5,000.”The note, signed by “The Occupiers”, also warns: “If you want to get us out you will have to issue a claim for possession in the County Court or in the High Court.”Film director and actor Gary Love bought the freehold of the derelict former coaching inn in 2007 from the Crown Estate. He then leased the premises for 25 years to Michelin-starred chef Ramsay, and it was transformed into a hugely successful boutique hotel and restaurant.Gordon is at the end of his tether. Not surprisingly, a few choice words have been saidSun sourceThe former stables became a wood-fired pizza oven space, and customers could sip cocktails on the zinc-topped bar.The lions and tigers at nearby London Zoo could also reportedly be heard at night by diners on the sprawling roof terrace. However in 2015 Hell’s Kitchen star Ramsay was embroiled in an unsuccessful legal battle over the premises after trying to free himself from the lease. A judge ruled he must personally pay £640,000 in rent arranged by his father-in-law Christopher Hutcheson, who Ramsay had sacked five years before.Hutcheson was accused of using a “ghost writer” machine to sign Ramsay’s name on a legal document. The chef’s wife Tana even dramatically testified against her father at the High Court. She stated she had made the “extremely distressing” discovery that her father — and brother Adam — had been “systematically defrauding” her husband.Hutcheson, 75, had been chief executive of Ramsay’s restaurant empire. But he was fired in 2010 after private detectives hired by the telly chef found he had hacked into his personal business files and withdrew £1.42million.The families reconciled but Hutcheson, who was said to have a mistress amid a “very complex life”, was jailed for six months in 2017.READ MORE SUN STORIESLast night the Met confirmed: “Police were made aware of squatters at a disused property in Parkway, Regent’s Park, NW1 on Wednesday, 10 April.”Squatters are viewed as a “civil matter” so police did not attend. The brazen legal notice on the door from ‘the occupiers’ warns they can stay putCredit: Andrew Styczynski More

Of course, I survived.”Duffy would later reveal she had been drugged at a restaurant on her birthday before being taken to another country, where she suffered a terrifying four-week ordeal. “Rape is like living murder. You are alive but dead,” Duffy explained. “All I can say is it took an extremely long time, sometimes feeling never-ending, to reclaim the shattered pieces of me.”READ MORE ON SHOWBIZMessages of support flooded in for the singer, who has continued to keep a low profile until yesterday, when she shared an inspirational video online. The animated clip featured quotes from a 2017 self-help book including “happiness was never about your job” and “happiness is always about being kinder to yourself”.Now, as the singer breaks her silence online, we look back at the traumatic difficulties she has overcome.Heartbreaking splitThe singer was born Aimee Ann Duffy and grew up in the tiny coastal village of Neyfn, in North Wales, which has less than 1,300 residents. Most read in MusicShe was raised by mum Joyce, who worked in a factory, and dad Allan Evans, a storeman, but it was far from a happy childhood due to the couple’s marital difficulties.Duffy told the Mail On Sunday: “They tried to separate when I was six but I cried so much that they stayed together. Welsh singer Duffy stars in Diet Coke commercial”That was very cruel of me, really, but my mum is a lovely woman and she didn’t want to hurt us.”They finally separated when I was nine. As kids, we weren’t really aware of the emotional side of it but I guess there was quite an upheaval.”While Duffy dismissed its effect on her, insisting she was “not someone who takes scared with me”, the news was “a big thing in the town” and gossip spread. She added: “Everybody was talking about it – but I think my mum did the right thing in leaving. I remember my dad being very upset.”Assassination plotBy 1996, Duffy’s mum Joyce had married new partner Philip Smith and the family moved to live with him and his four children.A year later, they returned home one evening to be told by police that Philip’s ex-wife Dawn has attempted to hire hitman to kill him.It was a horrendous thing to do. Me, my two sisters and my mum had stuck together through thick and thin, and when I left it was like I was saying, “F*** you.DuffyPhilip later told the Mirror: “Dawn had agreed to pay about £3,000 to a local man, Robert Rees, to shoot me dead.” Dawn, who died in 2002, told Robert to “just blow [Philip’s] head off” but instead he went to the police. Duffy, along with the rest of the family, had to be moved into a safe house until police arrested Dawn and her new husband Marc Watson. In 1998, she was convicted of soliciting murder and sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. Recalling that traumatic time, the singer previously told us: “I was so terrified. I felt so ill.”’Dog-eat-dog’ familyDuffy struggled with fame and nearly quit music for good in 2009Credit: RexSettling into life with her mum and stepdad had never been easy for Duffy. The future singer, alongside her two sisters, were made to leave their dad and move 200 miles away to Pembrokeshire to live with Philip. Before departing her father’s house, she scrawled “I love you Dad” on the wall as she struggled to imagine not being with him. At her new school, which was English-speaking, Duffy, her twin sister Kate and older sister Kelly found it hard to fit in and were thought of as “weird” by classmates due to speaking Welsh. She said: “We quickly learned that we weren’t going to survive if we did that.”Adapting to having four step-siblings wasn’t easy either. Duffy described it as a “dog-eat-dog” environment. She recalled: “If you had a chocolate bar you had bought with some money you had found then there was outrage in the house, ‘How come you’ve got one?’ But little things were what we got by on. We just didn’t have anything.” At 15, Duffy ran away from home and went back to live with her dad in Nefyn. She reflected: “It was a horrendous thing to do. Me, my two sisters and my mum had stuck together through thick and thin, and when I left it was like I was saying, “F*** you.“But I just had to do something because it was killing me living there.”Troubled teensDuffy’s teen years were troubled and she went off the rails. She told the Mail: “From 15 to 18, I did everything – body-piercing to going on 48-hour binge beach parties, to stealing someone’s boat at night and rowing it from one place to another when we were drunk, to jumping on a milk float for a lift home.”I wanted the record to do everything it needed to do, but I didn’t really want to be associated with it because I wasn’t proud of myself. I’ve never been proud of myself.DuffyHer behaviour concerned family members so much that her aunt warned she would become a single mum on benefits if she didn’t turn her life around. But Duffy was focused and became determined to be a singer-songwriter. After completing her A-levels, she spent a short time at Chester University before dropping out.  While working as a waitress and in clothing shops, she penned some of the songs that would eventually make her a star. ‘Falling apart’Duffy in her notorious 2009 Diet Coke advertCredit: Coca ColaIn 2007, Duffy signed a record deal. It came four years after appearing on Wawffactor, the Welsh equivalent of The X Factor. Her debut album Rockferry was an instant success – it became the fourth best-selling album of 2008 and sold nine million copies.  But, rather than taking joy from her achievement, the singer felt uncomfortable and self-conscious. She said: “I feel quite embarrassed and shy about it all and quite scared…  “I wanted the record to do everything it needed to do, but I didn’t really want to be associated with it because I wasn’t proud of myself. “I’ve never been proud of myself. There is so much more to do.”The following year she beat stars including Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen at the 2009 Brit Awards – where she scooped three out of four gongs – but still her feeling of dissatisfaction continued. I thought he treasured me. I asked him to tell me his hidden secrets and it all came out, so I couldn’t be with him.DuffyThat same year, she was mocked for featuring in a Diet Coke advert that saw her singing while cycling through a supermarket. Duffy nearly quit fame because of the pressure and stress, explaining that she didn’t want to be “adored or admired, to make money or be successful”.“I did think, ‘Maybe I won’t do this at all,’” she said. “It was a wild, exhilarating experience and at times it felt as though I was falling apart at the seams.“Life had got so complicated. I found it difficult to operate in the music industry.”  Cheating exDuffy’s romantic life hadn’t been much easier either. In 2006, her five-year relationship with music promoter Mark Durston ended after he admitted to having cheated on her. She explained: “I thought he treasured me. I asked him to tell me his hidden secrets and it all came out, so I couldn’t be with him.”She later added: “He hurt me but he didn’t destroy me. “But I don’t resent anyone – I can’t blame him for behaving the way he did. I was hurt but it didn’t surprise me. Duffy dated Welsh international rugby player Mike Phillips for two yearsCredit: Alamy”When I started I had absolutely no one to protect me or two pennies to rub together. I thought he was a good guy and he provided a little stability and then it was another one bites the dust.”By 2009, Duffy was dating Welsh international rugby player Mike Phillips but their romance ended after two years. At the time, a source claimed their “arguments were getting more frequent” and described the break-up as “a very unfortunate and sad situation”.They added: “The arguments were increasing as the uncertainty surrounding Mike’s career increased.I thought the public disclosure of my story would utterly destroy my life, emotionally, while hiding my story was destroying my life so much more. I believe that not singing is killing meDuffy“They tried to reconcile things on several occasions and were both keen to make it work but it is now over once and for all.“It’s all very amicable. It is just unfortunate the way things didn’t work out.”Since then, Duffy appears to have kept her relationships out of the private eye. Horror blazeBad luck appeared to follow Duffy. In 2010, her album flopped and then after dropping her manager Angela Becker, she was sued and had to settle out of court. In 2012, further chaos followed when Duffy’s £12million penthouse home in Kensington, West London, caught fire. She was packing her belongings ready to move out the following day when a pal spotted smoke pouring thought one of the home’s vents. Duffy’s £12m penthouse in Kensington caught fire in 2012Credit: National PicturesIt took more than four hours for the blaze to be put outCredit: National PicturesUnable to trace the source of the fire, they fled outside where they were forced to watch the lavish property burn.  It took more than 60 firefighters six hours to put out the blaze at her home – which boasted an indoor swimming pool, games room and a cinema.Recalling the incident, one neighbour told the Mail: “I saw Duffy running outside. She was running about all over the place. When the police arrived they calmed her.”I would take off my pyjamas and throw them in the fire and put on another set. My hair would get so knotted from not brushing it, as I grieved, I cut it all offDuffyDuffy was facing problems with her career too. In 2011, she cancelled a gig in Monaco and a year later, she pulled out of one in Dubai. It’s believed that somewhere around this time, she suffered the harrowing attack that led her to retreat from the spotlight. Duffy took on smaller projects including playing a singer in the 2015 film Legend, which was about the Kray twins. She was also due to appear in a film titled Secret Love, which was never made, and was said to be working on a new album with Albert Hammond but the music was never released. In 2014, her former mentor Bernard Butler said: “She went off the rails and it all went pear-shaped for her.”’Life in danger’It appears few knew about Duffy’s ordeal – with the singer admitting she didn’t tell many people because she “knew my life was in danger”.On her 2020 blog, the singer said: “It didn’t feel safe to go to the police. I felt if anything went wrong, I would be dead, and he would have killed me. I could not risk being mishandled or it being all over the news during my danger.”Duffy, who did not report the incident to police, says she battled suicidal thoughts and considered changing her name to flee to another country. Duffy posts on social media but in 2020 shared a snap of herselfCredit: Instagram/duffy”I would not see someone, a physical soul, for sometimes weeks and weeks and weeks at a time, remaining alone,” she added.“I would take off my pyjamas and throw them in the fire and put on another set. My hair would get so knotted from not brushing it, as I grieved, I cut it all off.”Duffy revealed it was the conviction of Harvey Weinstein – who was found guilty of two sexual abuse charges in 2020 – that encouraged her to speak out. She added: “I thought the public disclosure of my story would utterly destroy my life, emotionally, while hiding my story was destroying my life so much more. I’ve come to realise I can’t erase myself, I live in my being, so I have to be completely honest and have faith in the outcome.”I can now leave this decade behind. Where the past belongs. Hopefully no more ‘what happened to Duffy questions’, now you know … and I am free.” More
