PALMA Violets were an indie rock band from Lambeth, London, founded in 2011.
The four original members included – Chilli Jesson, Sam Fryer, Pete Mayhew and Will Doyle.
The band’s music was primarily in the indie rock genre, with some garage rock and psychedelic influences.
The London foursome were compared to the Clash or the Libertines.
They were signed to Rough Trade Records and gained a fan base online before the release of their first single Best of Friends.
But they disbanded in 2018 and bassist Chilli said he knew it was coming for a while.
He told NME: “I think so, yeah. But I didn’t know how scary it was going to be when eventually the inevitable happened. I was sort of left out alone.
“Everything that I knew crumbled around me. I was riddled with anxieties – the unknown is such a scary place.
“That was what I knew for five, six years of my life. It was a scary thing.” More

You’re Not AloneEVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
