Lost one single AirPod? Here’s how to find it…

    Life

    by Sarah Joseph

We all love AirPods, with its convenient design and handsfree system. However, losing one single AirPod on a flight, in a car or even while jogging, often is the biggest hindrance.
For most models, when your AirPods are separated, these are the following steps to find them when lost:
Step 1: Go to the Find My appStep 2: As you see the location of only one at a time, you have to first locate the one on the map.Step 3: Insert one back into the caseStep 4: Refresh the map to locate the other one
Incase your AirPods are “Offline” or show “No location” or even out of range and need to charge, you might be able to get directions of their last known location but you won’t be able to play a sound or use Find Nearby. Once they are back online, you can receive a notification on your iPhone or other Apple device that you use with them.
If you can’t find your AirPods at all, you can follow these steps for assistance.
Step 1: In Find My, choose your AirPods and swipe up.Step 2: Under Mark as Lost, tap Activate.Step 3: Follow the onscreen steps to display your contact information to someone who finds your AirPods.Step 4: Select Activate.
    Still can’t find it?
Additionally, if this hack still doesn’t work and you can’t find your missing AirPod, the good news is you can buy a replacement for a left or right AirPod or the right AirPod or even the charging case. You can also be ensured that your replacement will be new.
Also, if you’re on the lookout for a chic case to suit your personality, we’ve curated our top guide of editor-approved options:

Huge blow for Brad Pitt as he’s forced to axe tens of millions of pounds worth of footage from F1 film Apex in bust-up

HE had put the pedal to the metal on his big budget Formula 1 movie, but Brad Pitt’s efforts have now hit the skids.I can reveal that the actor, who is starring in and producing the as-yet untitled movie, has been forced to axe tens of millions of pounds worth of footage from the flick in a row over sponsorships.
A row over sponsorships has forced Brad Pitt to axe tens of millions of pounds worth of footage from upcoming F1 blockbuster ApexCredit: Splash News
He had spent the first half of the F1 season shooting at Grand Prix events around the globe for the blockbuster, before the actors’ strike put the production on ice.
But now that they have picked up work on it again, the sponsorships have all changed, which means they can no longer use a large amount of the scenes they had already shot.
The disastrous scenario is a devastating blow to co-producers Jerry Bruckheimer and British racing legend Lewis Hamilton.
    ‘Defunct footage’
Like Brad, Lewis also stars in the film as well as helping to produce it.
    READ MORE ON BRAD PITT
A source said: “It really is a nightmare for Brad and the team.
“A lot of events had been earmarked for filming throughout the year which would have helped reduce costs rather than having to recreate high-speed moments and wide shots.
“However, with all the sponsors changing it now makes the footage defunct.
“It’s gutting for Brad and Lewis who see this project as their baby.
    Most read in Bizarre
“Apple Studios, who are helping make the film, are far from impressed but at the end of the day, there isn’t a lot they can do.”
The film is being directed by Joseph Kosinski who recently teamed up with Tom Cruise on the box office smash Top Gun: Maverick.
It had been hoped that it would hit screens in late 2024, but that is looking increasingly unlikely following these new delays.
Javier Bardem, Damson Idris and The Banshees Of Inisherin star Kerry Condon will also appear in the movie.
Film bosses want it to emulate the success of Ron Howard’s 2013 F1 smash Rush.
The film is set to follow fictional racer Sonny Hayes, played by Brad, who suffers a horror crash which forces him to give up the sport.
He is then brought out of retirement years later to mentor a young racer who dreams of dominating the track.
Racing fanatic Brad had been due to star in a flick called Go Like Hell alongside Tom Cruise, and also directed by Joseph, but it fell apart because of budget issues, so let’s hope the same doesn’t happen here.
Previously talking about this new film, Brad said: “I tell you what’s amazing about it.
“You’ll see the cameras mounted all over the car. You’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen the G-forces like this. It’s really amazing.”
Sounds like it’s not always life in the fast line for Brad, after all.

Apple introduces new features for better mental health provision

    Life

    by Ruman Baig

Apple launches new features that can tap into deeper areas of health and provide powerful insights.
Mental health and vision health features have been included in iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10. With this new provision, Apple emphasizes on the fact that mental health is as important as physical health and affects people every day in how they think, feel, and act.
The new mental health features will allow users to log their momentary emotions and daily moods. It will help them assess and track their emotions and attain important information that will be pivotal in their mental health journey. All of these new features — and existing health features — are backed by science and built with privacy at the core.
“Our goal is to empower people to take charge of their own health journey. With these innovative new features, we’re expanding the comprehensive range of health and wellness tools that we offer our users across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch,” said Sumbul Desai, M.D., Apple’s vice president of Health. “Mental health and vision health are important, but often overlooked, and we’re excited to introduce features that offer valuable new insights to provide users with an even better understanding of their health. These insights help support users in their daily decisions and offer more informed conversations with their doctors.”

According to research, reflecting on one’s own mental state can help improvise emotional awareness. “Identifying our feelings has been shown to help us manage difficult emotions, appreciate positive moments, and improve well-being.” Multiple studies by researchers have shown that identifying feelings reduces emotions like sadness and anger, and positively impacts our body by slowing our heart rate. Additionally, in a survey of participants in the UCLA Digital Mental Health Study, initial results showed more than 80 percent of participants found reflecting on their mood in the study app increased emotional awareness, and about half said it increased wellbeing,” adds Dr. Michelle Craske, a distinguished professor of psychology and psychiatry at UCLA.
Through the health app users can scroll through engaging, multidimensional shapes and choose how they are feeling in a range from Very Pleasant to Very Unpleasant. They can also select associations that are having the biggest impact on their feelings, like travel or family, and describe their feelings, such as grateful or worried.
In addition to that, users will be able to identify the contributing factors to their mental state — whether it’s associations or lifestyle factors, such as sleep or exercise — and can use these insights to better manage their overall health.
