Private jet firm K9 JETS is introducing an exclusive service for canine-loving travellers, offering private jet flights from Dubai to the UK.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for September 26th, departing from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai and landing in Farnborough, UK. Tickets, priced at $9,925 (3,397.61Dhs), include a seat for one passenger and a spot in the cabin for a furry companion.
The Dubai-London route will feature regular flights throughout 2023 and 2024, with departures in December, January, April, July, and September. This service aims to meet the growing demand for pet-friendly travel, as over 4 million pets and animals are transported by air annually, according to the International Pet and Transport Association (IPATA).
Before K9 JETS, pet owners faced airline-specific policies, often leading to larger pets travelling in cargo, separated from their owners. K9 JETS’ service allows pets to sit on their owner’s lap or in the cabin, enhancing the travel experience for both.

Travellers on this route must provide medical certification for their pets, and pups must remain leashed. To make the journey stress-free, a deluxe private terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport offers a welcoming environment with a designated area for pets to relax before takeoff.
Founded by Kirsty and Adam Golder in 2022, K9 JETS has already flown over 220 pets and 200 passengers. The company has ambitious expansion plans, eyeing new routes in Asia and Australia by 2024. All flights are operated by a licensed U.S. air carrier.

Emirates Airlines goes digital, phases out paper boarding passes from Dubai

    Life

    by Ruman Baig

In another future-forward decision, Emirates Airlines plans to fade out paper boarding passes for flights from Dubai.
With a vision to make the experience more digitally enabled for the customers, this is a step in the right direction.
Passengers departing from Dubai with Emirates Airlines will require to use a mobile boarding pass instead of a printed paper version, from  May 15, 2023, onwards.
Travellers taking their flights from Terminal 3 will receive their mobile boarding pass via email or SMS. Customers of the arilines can check in online and load their boarding pass into their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or retrieve their boarding pass on the user-friendly Emirates App. The checked-in baggage receipt is also emailed directly to passengers, or available in the Emirates App.
Not only is this a more convenient approach for the digital-friendly travellers, it will also significantly reduce paper waste. Plus, it will further reduce the risk of lost or misplaced boarding passes, offering passengers some extra peace of mind when beginning their journey.

The mobile boarding pass can be used throughout – in Dubai Duty Free, at security and for boarding, simply by showing the boarding pass on the phone. Emirates agents and airport staff will scan the QR code on the mobile boarding pass as passengers move through the airport and onto the airplane.
While this will cover majority of the travellers, some passengers may still require a physical boarding pass to be printed. For example, those travelling with infants, unaccompanied minors, passengers requiring special assistance, passengers with onwards flights on other airlines and all passengers travelling on flights to the US.
If the passengers do not have a mobile device, or if they are unable to access the information on their devices for reasons such as: running out of battery power, a system breakdown or glitch, message delivery delay, or inability to access WIFI, network or a data package, they will have the option to print a boarding pass by request to Emirates agents at check-in counters.
Apart from the convenient check-in and itinerary management, travellers who use the Emirates app can also enjoy the benfits of accessing the digital menus in advance, while curating a playlist of favourite movies, TV shows and music playlists available on ice, which they can synchronise from their app the moment they board to save time.
UAE Residents can register to use the Smart Gates at Emirates Terminal 3 and speed through Immigration every time they return to Dubai. UAE citizens and residents can use their passport, boarding pass, or a valid UAE ID, while GCC nationals or visitors eligible for visa on arrival can pass through the Smart Gates with a biometric passport.

Go behind the scenes of Emirates Airlines’ new livery design for its fleet

    Lifestyle

    by Ruman Baig

For the first time in 24 years, Emirates Airlines has initiated a change to its livery. Since the appearance of the airline is a core part of its identity, the changes are subtle but nuanced.
Ever since the airline’s inception in 1985, this is only the third livery alteration that has taken place. The original livery design was created by a UK-based company called Negus & Negus in 1985. After which, everything was crafted by the in-house design team. The bold Arabic and English ‘Emirates’ lettering in gold on the body is now larger by 32.5%. The winglet design on The A380 has been modified with the Arabic calligraphy facing outward, and the Emirati flag facing inward. The tail continues to feature the Emirati flag, but it now has a 3D waving effect.

Fresh out of the Emirates Airlines Engineering unit, Airbus A830 is the first Emirates aricraft to feature these changes. For its first flight back in service, the plane will fly to Munich on March 17 as flight EK51. The new livery design will eventually be infused across the entire Emirates fleet. Before the end of 2023, 7 of the Airbus A380s and 17 Boeing 777s are expected to feature the new livery. While the newly delivered Emirates aircraft will feature the new livery by August in 2024.
“Aircraft livery is the most instantly recognisable brand real estate for any airline. It’s a visual representation of our unique identity, something we wear proudly, and display in all the cities we fly to around the world. We’re refreshing our livery to keep it modern, without losing the key elements of our identity such as the UAE flag on our tailfin and the Arabic calligraphy,” said Emirates President Tim Clark in the official statement.
