It comes after the success of YouTube personality Joe Sugg on 2018’s series of the dance contest.

This year, a second YouTube and Instagram influencer has been recruited to take to the floor, with 19-year-old Saffron Barker set to compete.

Speaking to The Sun, 54-year-old choreography pro insisted that it’s about time BBC execs embrace new age celebs like Love Island reality stars.

He said, “I don’t know if Love Island stars will be on Strictly in the future, but I hope so.

“I think now that is the craze, YouTube and reality TV stars are coming to the forefront, I think you have to be prepared for that.

“You have to keep it classy, you want to keep it social, and it is important to be inclusive – that’s my kind of thing.”

Discussing the merging of the dancing and vlogging world, the ballroom expert continued, “I am glad that the BBC are doing that with people on YouTube because it is inclusive.

“These people have millions and millions of followers, and it is a brilliant thing to invite them into the Strictly bubble.”

This comes after it was revealed that Made In Chelsea’s reality posh boy Jamie Laing had to pull out of the contest when he badly injured his foot during his first ever live dance.

The 30-year-old McVitie’s heir was supposed to be paired with dancing pro Oti Mabuse, but is now hobbling around in a moon boot instead, having damaged his ligaments.

Speaking about the disastrous injury, he said, “I’m absolutely devastated that I’m unable to continue in the competition. I was so excited to hit the dance floor.”
