Ex-Emmerdale actress Verity Rushworth has welcomed a baby boy.

The TV star, who played Donna Windsor on the soap from 1998 to 2009, announced the happy news on social media today.

She tweeted a picture of the tot’s tiny feet crossed together and excitedly wrote, “He’s here!” along with five blue hearts.

Fellow soap actress Hayley Tamaddon, who is also pregnant, was one of the first to congratulate her, writing under the sweet photo, “Omg congrats!”

Corrie star Paula Lane, who played Kylie Platt, also replied to the tweet, saying, “huge congratulations to you both.”

Earlier in the week, 33-year-old Verity told her fans it was her due date but there was still no sign of her little boy.

Alongside a series of pictures of her pulling funny faces, she begged to go into labour.

“Come on bubba !!!! #getout #somanytexts #stillpreggerz,” she wrote.

Donna and husband Dominic Shaw are already parents to daughter Amelie Iris who was born in August 2016.

Speaking previously about juggling motherhood with her career, she said she took some time out following the birth of her daughter.

From July 2017 to June 2018, Verity starred in the West End production of Kinky Boots.

“It’s a massive struggle obviously when you have a baby and so I decided to chill and take 10 months,” she shared.

“Then I felt I needed to be me again and the skills I had worked so hard on I didn’t want to lose.”

Verity added to the Press Association, “I just don’t think that everything should stop just because I’ve had a baby and I’ve been very lucky I’ve had 10 months with her and I’m still at home with her until 4 o’clock so I get to spend time with her and do the show.”
